Bell’s palsy is an acute peripheral facial nerve disorder characterized by unilateral facial muscle weakness that may affect physical function, emotional condition, and social confidence. In recent years, acupuncture has increasingly been used as an alternative and complementary therapy to support the recovery process of Bell’s palsy patients. This study aimed to analyze Bell’s palsy therapy using acupuncture methods from the perspective of traditional medicine and Ayurveda, as well as to examine its effectiveness in improving patient recovery. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at the Eddy Wiryaatmadja Alternative Clinic. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies using purposive sampling techniques. Informants consisted of acupuncture therapists and Bell’s palsy patients who underwent therapy. The findings revealed that acupuncture therapy contributed positively to the improvement of facial nerve function, reduction of pain and muscle stiffness, enhancement of facial symmetry, better sleep quality, and increased patient confidence. The therapy procedures included diagnosis, determination of acupuncture points, needle insertion, infrared exposure, and electroacupuncture stimulation. The study concludes that acupuncture therapy is effective as an alternative and complementary treatment for Bell’s palsy by supporting nerve recovery and restoring body energy balance holistically.
