This article discusses how the concept of open science has been reflected in the tradition of Bayt al-Hikmah and its relevance in the Society 5.0 era. The main issue addressed is the separation between fields of knowledge, which limits the integration of science and human values. This study employs a library research method by analyzing relevant literature sources.The results show that Bayt al-Hikmah functioned not only as a library but also as a collaborative space for scholars from diverse cultural backgrounds to develop knowledge openly. This reflects the principles of open access and cross-cultural collaboration. Compared to the Society 5.0 era, both share similarities in terms of collaboration and knowledge dissemination, although modern advancements are supported by more sophisticated technology.In conclusion, the values of openness, cross-cultural collaboration, and respect for differences found in Bayt al-Hikmah remain highly relevant in fostering a more inclusive and sustainable development of knowledge.
