Dental caries in school-aged children is an important health issue. Based on the results of the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the prevalence of dental and oral health problems among people aged 3 years and above reached 56.9%. However, only about 11.2% of the population sought medical treatment to address these problems. This shows that public awareness of the importance of dental and oral health care is still low. Efforts to combat dental caries can be carried out through preventive, curative, and rehabilitative approaches. One effective prevention method is the application of fissure sealants. This preventive measure is considered safe, comfortable, and has minimal risks for children. Fissure sealants are applied to the pits and fissures on the occlusal surface of the teeth to form a physical barrier that protects the tooth surface from plaque accumulation and caries development. This community service activity aims to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), particularly in the effort to prevent caries in children from an early age. The activity was carried out through dental and oral health education and consultation for parents of students at Lazuardi Kamila Elementary School in Surakarta, as well as the application of fissure sealants on deciduous molars and first permanent molars of students. The results of the activity showed that the program ran well and received an enthusiastic response from participants. It is hoped that parents will increase their attention to their children's dental and oral health and take early measures to prevent caries.
