<![CDATA[The realm of diplomacy has been transforming over time. Diplomacy is no longer limited to economic diplomacy, diplomacy to achieve peace in times of conflict, and diplomacy using hard power. It also extends to soft power diplomacy, such as halal tourism diplomacy. In recent years, Aceh, as one of Indonesia’s special provinces, has increasingly strengthened its halal tourism diplomacy to develop sustainable tourism in attracting tourists. Consequently, researchers proposed the research problem: “What are the diplomatic strategies implemented by the Provincial Government of Aceh in promoting halal tourism to develop sustainable tourism in Aceh?” Using a qualitative research method, researchers collected and analyzed data from literature sources, including official reports from the Aceh Provincial Government, journal articles, books, and newspapers. This research was elaborated using public diplomacy theory and the concept of halal tourism. From the data analysis, the researcher found that the halal tourism diplomacy strategy can be more optimal through collaboration between the Aceh Provincial Government and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in creating clear regulations. Furthermore, the Provincial Government of Aceh can involve more stakeholders and community leaders as non-state actors who best understand the tourism area itself. This partnership will unite perceptions between state and non-state actors in developing halal tourism in Aceh to further attract tourists to Aceh.]]>
