Exclusive breastfeeding has optimal benefits for the growth and development of the baby as well as the mother's health. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still low, one of which is influenced by the employment status of mothers. Working mothers often experience limited time to breastfeed optimally. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the mother's employment status and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months in the Work Area UPT Puskesmas Ogodeide. This study uses a quantitative approach with analytical survey methods and cross sectional approaches. The population in this study includes all mothers who have babies aged 7-12 months in the WOrk Area UPT Puskesmas Ogodeide in 2024, which amounts to 178 people, with sample calculation using the Slovin formula and the sample obtained in this study is 64 respondents sampling was carried out through a cluster random sampling approach. By using data analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results of the study were obtained that mothers who had a working employment status were 25 respondents (39.1%) and managed to exclusively breastfeed 8 respondents (32.0%) based on the Chi Square test with a Continuity Correction of 0.001 (p value < 0.05), then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means that there is a relationship between the mother's work status and the success of exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months in the Work Area UPT Puskesmas Ogodeide. There is a relationship between the mother's employment status and the success of exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months in the Work Area UPT Puskesmas Ogodeide.
