<![CDATA[Background: The frequent consumption of street food among adolescents is a cause for concern because many types of street food are high in sugar, salt, and fat but low in essential nutrients. Nutritional literacy, body image perceptions, and pocket money allocation are thought to influence this behavior, although the findings of previous studies have been inconsistent.Objectives: To examine the associations between nutrition literacy, body image, pocket money allocation, and street food consumption frequency among junior high school students in Karangpilang District.Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at two junior high schools in the Karangpilang District of Surabaya from January to May 2026. A total of 173 students were selected using proportional random sampling method. Data were collected using the Short Food Literacy Questionnaire, Figure Rating Scale, and Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire. Associations were analyzed using chi-square tests at P < 0.05.Results: Most participants had above-average nutritional literacy, negative body image, and above-average pocket money allocation. Pocket money allocation was significantly associated with street food consumption frequency (p = 0.012), whereas nutritional literacy (p = 0.400) and body image (p = 0.428) were not.Conclusion: Pocket money allocation was associated with street food consumption frequency, but nutrition literacy and body image were not. Managing adolescents’ pocket money and improving the school food environment may help reduce the frequency of street food consumption.]]>
