Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease with a continuously increasing prevalence that has become a significant public health burden. Prevention efforts can be pursued through the utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (Tanaman Obat Keluarga/TOGA). TOGA land utilization constitutes a promotive and preventive strategy that can be implemented by enhancing community knowledge and motivation. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge and motivation regarding TOGA land utilization and diabetes mellitus prevention in Sukarapih Village RT 004, Tambelang District. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed with a population of 128 households. A sample of 97 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling in accordance with predefined inclusion criteria. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate approaches with the Chi-Square test. The findings demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between knowledge of TOGA land utilization and diabetes mellitus prevention (p < 0.05), as well as a statistically significant relationship between motivation for TOGA land utilization and diabetes mellitus prevention (p < 0.05). These findings underscore the importance of strengthening community-based health education and motivational interventions to optimize TOGA land utilization as an integrated strategy for community-based diabetes mellitus prevention.
