<![CDATA[Coronary heart disease (CHD), including coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, with a continuously increasing prevalence, including in Indonesia. This condition underscores the need for effective rehabilitation strategies to improve patients’ quality of life. Physical exercise is an essential component of CAD rehabilitation; however, patient adherence to exercise programs remains low and is strongly influenced by exercise beliefs, namely patients’ perceptions of their self-control and ability to perform physical activity. This study aims to analyze exercise beliefs among CAD patients at Welas Asih Regional Hospital using a descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was obtained through convinience sampling, and the instruments used were the Exercise Control Belief scales, which had undergone translation, content validity, construct validity, and reliability testing. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using frequency distribution and mean scores. The findings showed that most patients had moderate to high levels of exercise beliefs, with self-efficacy levels being more dominant than exercise control beliefs, while some patients remained uncertain about controlling exercise when experiencing physical symptoms. These results indicate the need for educational interventions and nursing support to strengthen patients’ confidence and motivation in performing physical exercise as part of cardiac rehabilitation.]]>
