Type II diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that causes changes in the quality of life of sufferers. To improve the quality of life, good spirituality is needed. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between spirituality and the quality of life of patients with type II diabetes mellitus. This type of research is correlational. The population was Type 2 DM II patients at UPTD Puskesmas Sukabumi with a sample of 104 respondents. The sampling technique used Proportional Random Sampling. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The results of the spirituality questionnaire validity test 0.36-0.83 and quality of life 0.428-0.857. The reliability test results of the spirituality questionnaire with a Crombach's Alpha value of 0.97 and quality of life with a Crombach's Alpha value of 0.969. Data analysis using chi-square test. The results showed that most had high spirituality and most had high quality of life. The results of the chi-square test obtained a P-value of 0.000 which means p < 0.05 H0 is rejected, so there is a relationship between spirituality and the quality of life of patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The study concluded that there is a relationship between spirituality and the quality of life of patients with type II diabetes mellitus. It is expected that UPTD Puskesmas Sukabumi can conduct routine counselling related to DM management and can maintain the support system and encourage themselves to get closer to God.
