<![CDATA[Student attendance is an important aspect of education as it reflects discipline, responsibility, and academic achievement. However, the manual attendance system still used at SMAS Pertiwi 1 Kota Jambi has several weaknesses, such as vulnerability to human error, delays in report preparation, and inefficiency in data management. To overcome these problems, this study aims to design and implement a web-based attendance management system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in recording student presence. The system was developed using PHP and MySQL and designed through a system analysis approach with Data Flow Diagram (DFD), involving students, teachers, administrators, and the principal as main entities. The attendance mechanism requires students to upload a photo as proof of presence, which is then validated by teachers according to the class schedule. Validated data are automatically compiled and accessible to administrators and the principal for monitoring and reporting. The results show that the system effectively addresses the weaknesses of manual attendance, offering ease in recording, managing, and reporting, and is expected to become an innovative solution for SMAS Pertiwi 1 Kota Jambi.]]>
