<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the importance of strengthening students’ character through teaching materials containing personal and educational values. The objectives of this study were to describe the personal values, educational values, and the use of the Banten folktale Pande Gelang by Dian Kristiani as an alternative Indonesian language teaching material for elementary schools. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The data source was the folktale Pande Gelang by Dian Kristiani. Data were collected through reading, note-taking, and text analysis and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings revealed 18 data consisting of 10 personal values, including emotional, intellectual, imaginative, social, ethical, and religious development, and 8 educational values, including discipline, perseverance, cooperation, and lifelong learning spirit. The study concludes that Pande Gelang contains values relevant to character education and is appropriate as a local wisdom-based Indonesian language teaching material for elementary school students.]]>
