<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the science process skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 63 Surabaya based on indicators and gender. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 58 students. Data were collected through an essay test consisting of 8 questions covering observing, questioning and predicting, processing, and evaluating and concluding, and were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students’ science process skills were in the moderate category with an average score of 59%, where 72% of students were in the moderate category, and 14% each in the high and low categories. The highest achievement was in observing (68%), while the lowest was in questioning and predicting (49%). Based on gender, female students tended to achieve higher performance in the high category compared to male students. These findings indicate that students’ science process skills still need improvement, especially in higher-order thinking skills.]]>
