<![CDATA[This study aims to explain the meaning of social assessment, the characteristics of children's social development, the principles of social assessment, the objectives of social assessment, types of social assessment instruments, theories underlying social assessment, steps in developing instruments, and the application of social assessment in early childhood education (PAUD). The method used is a literature study by reviewing various relevant books and reference sources. The results of the discussion indicate that social assessment plays a crucial role in helping teachers understand children's social development, such as the ability to cooperate, share, communicate, and adapt to the social environment. Social assessment is implemented through observation, checklists, anecdotal notes, and other instruments appropriate to the characteristics of early childhood. In its application in PAUD, teachers act as observers, guides, and facilitators in supporting children's optimal social development. Thus, social assessment is an important part of creating learning that is appropriate to the needs and development of students.]]>
