<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the use of video media in teaching short story writing to eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Rambutan. The focus of the study includes the learning process, student engagement, and factors influencing the use of video media. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research subjects were Indonesian language teachers and eleventh-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that the use of video media in teaching short story writing can increase student activeness and engagement. Students become more enthusiastic, find it easier to understand story elements, and are more creative in developing writing ideas. Supporting factors include teacher readiness, media suitability, and learning facilities, while inhibiting factors include time constraints and differences in student abilities. Therefore, video media can be an effective alternative in teaching short story writing as it creates an engaging and interactive learning environment and improves student learning outcomes.]]>
