<![CDATA[This study aims to identify various obstacles in reading activities at schools, particularly those caused by the lack of adequate facilities such as proper libraries for students. The study employed a qualitative method through a literature review approach by collecting, examining, and analyzing various reading sources to gain a deeper understanding of literacy problems and the actual conditions occurring in the field. The results of the study indicate that elementary school students are able to understand learning materials more easily when they are presented through visual media such as pictures, videos, and digital media. At the elementary school level, children tend to learn more effectively through concrete objects and examples that can be directly observed. Therefore, the use of visual media and examples related to daily life has proven to help students comprehend reading materials better, not merely reading words without understanding their meaning. These findings are supported by previous studies showing that visual information is easier to understand than text alone. In addition, visual media can improve students’ focus, interest, and reading abilities during the learning process. ]]>
