<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in planning scientific investigations on water filtration material. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students at SD Tarakanita Bumijo 1 Yogyakarta. Data were collected using a multiple-choice test instrument based on indicators of planning scientific investigations, including identifying scientific questions and proposing appropriate experimental designs. The data were analyzed descriptively to determine students' ability levels. The results showed that students’ ability to plan scientific investigations was in the sufficient category. Some students were able to identify scientific questions correctly; however, many still experienced difficulties in designing appropriate experimental procedures and determining variables. This indicates that students' scientific literacy skills, particularly in planning investigations, still need improvement. Therefore, learning strategies that emphasize inquiry-based activities are needed to enhance students’ scientific thinking skills.]]>
