<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the implementation of the Total Communication (Komtal) method in the learning process of deaf students at SLB Negeri KeleyanBangkalan, encompassing the implementation process, challenges faced by teachers, and its impact on students' communication abilities. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects consisted of four classroom teachers and eight deaf students at the elementary special education level (SDLB). Results indicate that Komtal implementation combines oral language, sign language (SIBI), gestures, facial expressions, and visual media simultaneously. This approach demonstrably increased students' active participation in learning and strengthened two-way communication between teachers and students. Primary challenges identified included teachers' limited proficiency in standardized sign language and the diverse levels of hearing impairment among students. The study concludes that the Komtal method exerts a significantly positive impact on communication quality and learning outcomes of deaf students at SLB Keleyan Bangkalan.]]>
