<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the forms of language politeness and forms of violations of language politeness from netizens in the comments column of Ferry Irwandi's TikTok account. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data in the form of netizen comments containing the principles of politeness and violations of language politeness. Data were obtained through listening and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using Leech's politeness principle theory which includes the maxims of prudence, generosity, praise, humility, approval, and sympathy along with the forms of violations. The results of the study indicate that there are six forms of language politeness, namely the maxims of prudence, generosity, praise, humility, approval, and sympathy. In addition, six forms of violations of language politeness were found, namely the maxims of indiscretion, ungenerousness, contempt, arrogance, disagreement, and antipathy. The research findings indicate that the use of language in the comments column of Ferry Irwandi's TikTok account reflects the diversity of netizens' language behavior, both those who comply with and those who violate the principles of politeness. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of pragmatic studies, especially language politeness in digital communication.]]>
