This study aims to describe the implementation of the cooperative learning m odel type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) in improving the learning activeness of sixth-grade elementary school students on the topic of norms, rights, obligations, and responsibilities. The background of this study is based on the low level of students’ active participation in learning, which is still teacher-centered.This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were sixth- grade students of SD Inpres Buriro. The learning process was carried out through the stages of STAD, namely material presentation, group formation, discussion, presentation, and evaluation. Learning media in the form of videos and mind mapping activities were used to support students’ understanding. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the STAD model is able to increase students’ learning activeness, as shown by increased participation in discussions, courage in expressing opinions, and the ability to work collaboratively in groups. In addition, students’ understanding of the material also improved. Therefore, the STAD model is effective in creating active and meaningful learning in elementary schools.
