Abstract

Student conflict is a common phenomenon in schools due to differences in character, interests, and perspectives in social interactions. The most common conflict resolution approach is punishment-oriented, but this often fails to develop students' social skills and character. Therefore, an approach that utilizes cultural values as an educational means of conflict resolution is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the value of deliberation in Indonesian culture as a strategy for resolving student conflict through an ethnopedagogical approach. The research was conducted through a literature review, reviewing relevant scientific sources such as books, journals, and documents. Data analysis was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between the value of deliberation, student conflict, and ethnopedagogy. The findings demonstrate that deliberation, as part of Indonesian culture, embodies the values of tolerance, democracy, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and consensus, which are relevant to student conflict resolution. With an ethnopedagogical approach, the value of deliberation can be instilled as part of character education to encourage conflict resolution that leads to mutual agreement. Therefore, the value of deliberation has the potential to become a contextual conflict resolution strategy for students that is in accordance with the character of Indonesian culture.
