<![CDATA[The School Field Introduction Program (PLP) is an academic activity carried out by FKIP students to gain direct experience in the school environment. Through this activity, students can understand the learning process, the duties and responsibilities of teachers, and real conditions in the world of education. This study aims to determine the role of the School Field Introduction Program (PLP) in developing the competencies of prospective teachers of FKIP students at SMP Negeri 42 Palembang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and documentation during the PLP activity. The results show that the PLP activity provides a useful experience for students in developing pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies. In addition, students also gain experience in teaching practice, classroom management, preparation of learning tools, use of learning media, and interaction with teachers and students in the school environment. Thus, the PLP kegiatan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesiapan siswa FKIP sebagai profesional dan bertanggung jawab sebagai calon guru.]]>
