<![CDATA[This study aims to explore the application of students' critical thinking skills in learning using the deep learning approach at SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The background of this study is based on the need to develop critical thinking skills, which are one of the important skills in the 21st century that students must have. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach through literature studies and interviews. Data were collected from various relevant reading sources and through direct interviews with teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The research findings indicate that the application of deep learning is carried out through the use of technology in the learning process, as well as the application of Inquiry Learning, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), and Discovery Learning models, and creates an active, collaborative, and student-focused learning atmosphere. This approach encourages students to be more active in asking questions, discussing, analyzing data, solving problems, and relating learning materials to everyday life. In addition, the success of the implementation of deep learning is highly dependent on the teacher's ability to choose the right learning strategies and integrate technology efficiently. Therefore, the deep learning approach has been proven to be an effective alternative in improving students' critical thinking skills through learning methods that are meaningful, fun, and focused on developing higher-order thinking skills.]]>
