<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze students’ reading abilities in Indonesian language subjects at SDN 15 Tampe and identify the factors influencing students’ reading abilities. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach involving 19 second-grade students and a classroom teacher as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, reading tests, and documentation. The aspects analyzed included reading fluency, pronunciation accuracy, intonation, reading without spelling, and reading comprehension. The findings revealed that students’ reading abilities were categorized as fairly good, although some students still experienced difficulties in fluent reading, proper intonation, and understanding reading texts. Factors influencing students’ reading abilities included low reading interest, lack of reading habituation, limited reading materials, and differences in students’ learning abilities. The teacher’s role in providing guidance, motivation, and appropriate learning strategies was an important factor in improving students’ reading abilities. This study provides an overview of elementary students’ reading abilities and can serve as an evaluation material to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.]]>
