<![CDATA[Low metacognitive skills among students have become a serious issue that needs to be addressed through innovative teaching materials. This study aims to design, develop, and test the quality of Student Activity Sheets (LKPD) created using a metacognitive approach to encourage students' higher-order thinking skills. The development model used is the 4-D model, which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The data collection tools include expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests before and after the learning process. The validation results from the expert team show that the LKPD meets the criteria for being highly valid, with an average score of 3.74 out of 4. The practicality test resulted in 86.4% of respondents finding it very practical. The effectiveness test using the N-Gain score of 0.67 shows a moderate increase in students' critical thinking abilities. Therefore, the metacognitive-based LKPD developed is suitable to be used as an innovative teaching material that encourages students' independence and awareness in learning.]]>
