<![CDATA[This study aims to describe objectively, systematically, and measurably the readability level of children's stories in the "Kawan Seiring" 3rd-grade Indonesian language textbook for Semester 2, published by the Center for Curriculum and Adjudication. The accuracy of readability levels is significant in ensuring that teaching materials align with the students' concrete operational stage of cognitive development. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a content analysis approach. Data analysis was conducted using the Fry Graph instrument to measure language difficulty based on sentence length and the number of syllables. The results show that out of the five stories analyzed, only one story has a readability level suitable for 3rd grade. The other four stories were found to be more appropriate for higher levels, including grades IV, V, VI, and even 7th-grade junior high school. This indicates that the book is less suitable for 3rd-grade students due to the use of excessively long words and complex sentence structures. These findings recommend that teachers adjust reading texts to align with students' language abilities and reading interests in elementary school.]]>
