<![CDATA[This study aims to examine the inculcation of honesty values among students through the story of Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq in Islamic Religious Education learning at Grade VII of PKPPS Wustho Latifiyah Glagahwero Kalisat Jember. The research was motivated by the importance of developing students’ character, particularly honesty, amid various dishonest behaviors that still occur in the learning process. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the inculcation of honesty values was carried out through the presentation of exemplary stories of Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq, teacher role modeling, and the habituation of honest behavior during the learning process. Students demonstrated honesty through completing assignments independently, admitting mistakes, and speaking truthfully to teachers. However, some forms of dishonest behavior, such as cheating and providing untruthful excuses, were still identified. The implementation of honesty values through the story of Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq was found to be consistent with Thomas Lickona’s character education theory, Al-Ghazali’s perspective and the Prophet’s traditions regarding honesty, role-modeling theory, and storytelling-based learning theory. The study concludes that the exemplary stories of the Prophet’s companions serve as an effective medium for fostering honesty values and shaping students’ character in Islamic Religious Education learning.]]>
