This study aims to describe the improvement of students' ability to compare diaphanous poetry (puisi diafan) and prismatic poetry (puisi prismatis) in grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Selong, East Lombok Regency, through audiovisual media and text-based learning approaches. The research was conducted in three cycles of Teaching Practice (PPL) as part of the 2026 PPG Prajabatan program at Hamzanwadi University using classroom action research (CAR). Data were collected through observation sheets, student worksheets (LKPD), and student work assessments. The results showed that the use of interactive PPT, educational videos, visual posters, and structured worksheets significantly improved students' ability to identify characteristics of diaphanous and prismatic poetry, as well as distinguish them based on aspects of meaning, diction, and figurative language. Students who initially struggled to differentiate both types of poetry demonstrated significant comprehension development after implementation. These findings reinforce the importance of integrating innovative learning media in literary studies at the junior high school level to enhance students' literary literacy.
