Advances in information technology are driving transformation in the field of mental health through the emergence of online counseling services (E-Counseling). This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the use of applications in online counseling services. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines. The article search was conducted using the Google Scholar database for the years 2021–2026, yielding a total of 20 articles from national journals. The results indicate that the use of applications in online counseling services has proven to be effective and efficient. Synchronous communication applications, such as WhatsApp, Zoom Meetings, and Google Meet, are effective in overcoming spatial and temporal limitations. On the other hand, creative media applications, such as Canva and Powtoon, have been shown to enhance the digital competencies of guidance and counseling teachers in developing innovative counseling programs.
