This study aims to examine growth and motor development, particularly non-locomotor movement in children’s motor learning. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach, based on various relevant national journals. The results show that non-locomotor movements such as bending, twisting, swinging, stretching, and body flexing play an important role as the foundation of children’s motor development. These movements not only affect physical aspects such as balance, posture control, and body coordination, but also support cognitive, social, and emotional development. In addition, repeated and enjoyable stimulation through learning activities at school and home can optimize children’s motor skills development. Therefore, it can be concluded that non-locomotor movement is an essential basic foundation in motor development that should be stimulated early to support more complex motor skills in the next stages.
