Learning assessment is an essential component in ensuring the achievement of learning objectives at every level of education, including junior secondary school (SMP). In Indonesia, educational assessment standards are regulated through several laws and regulations, including the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 21 of 2022. Although these standards have been normatively established, their implementation in the field still faces various obstacles, such as teachers' limited understanding of authentic assessment concepts and time constraints in conducting remedial learning. This article aims to analyze educational assessment standards in Indonesia and their implementation at the junior secondary school level. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a review of relevant regulations, field observation, and interviews with teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Mengwi. The findings indicate that the assessment standards at the school have been implemented in accordance with the principles of fairness, objectivity, and educational value, and follow formative and summative assessment procedures as stipulated in Permendikbudristek Number 21 of 2022. The obstacles identified were addressed through collaboration among teachers and better time management for remedial guidance. The study concludes that strengthening teacher competence remains necessary so that the implementation of assessment standards can run more optimally and contribute to improving the quality of education.
