This research is motivated by the low utilization of technology-based learning media in the special area of Sorong Regency which has an impact on the lack of optimal critical thinking skills of students in learning science. Limited internet access, lack of technological facilities, and the use of conventional learning methods. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate learning media that is practical, interesting, and can be used offline according to special regional conditions. This study aims to: (1) analyze the needs of teachers and students for interactive PowerPoint media in social studies learning in special areas, (2) develop interactive PowerPoint media that is able to stimulate students' critical thinking skills, (3) determine the level of media feasibility based on validation of subject matter experts, media experts, and linguists, and (4) determine the effectiveness of the use of interactive PowerPoint media in improving critical thinking skills students. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, as well as pre-tests and post-tests. The interactive PowerPoint media developed was declared very feasible to use based on the results of expert validation. The results of the instrument reliability test using SPSS showed that the research instrument had a good level of reliability. Cronbach's Alpha score on the teacher's questionnaire was 0.776 and on the student questionnaire was 0.768. The value is greater than 0.70 so that the instrument is declared reliable and suitable for use in the research.
