Abstract

This study discusses socio-political dynamics in Indonesia showing an increase in the intensity of collective resistance of the community to government policies and state institutions through symbolic expressions that are widespread in the digital space. This condition is evident through the emergence of two color labels in the civil resistance zone, "Brave Pink" and "Hero Green", which are produced and framed by the mass media. The study examines four important studies in the past decade. It shows that the choice of color palette in digital media is not neutral and serves as a semiotic mode that shapes an ideological interpretation without text. Using a qualitative approach based on a critical paradigm. This qualitative approach was chosen based on the need to explore, understand, and interpret every layer of complex conceptual meaning contained in visual phenomena that cannot be measured using numbers or quantitative statistics. Brave pink originated from an event where a color that was originally formed as a weak force but has now turned into a symbol of courage. Especially with the presence of mothers in the demonstration that will take place in August 2025. The color green is associated with the tragedy of one of the drivers who was run over by a tactical vehicle and the presence of online motorcycle taxi drivers in green uniforms in the August 2025 demonstration. The visual interaction between Brave Pink and Hero Green in the newsroom of the mass media ultimately gave birth to a cross-genre narrative about the identity of modern resistance that is inclusive and humanist.
