Abstract

The rising demand for halal products is a key factor driving the development of micro-enterprises and supporting the growth of the sharia economy in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the impact of halal product demand on sharia economic growth among micro-entrepreneurs in Surabaya. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative research design was employed. The sample consisted of 203 micro-entrepreneurs selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results indicate that the demand for halal products has a positive and significant effect on sharia economic growth, evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), a t-statistic of 9.858, and a regression coefficient of 0.446. An Adjusted R-Square value of 0.323 reveals that the demand for halal products explains 32.3% of the variation in sharia economic growth, with the remainder influenced by factors outside the research model. These findings demonstrate that increased demand for halal products fosters higher income, labor absorption, and micro-enterprise development, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the sharia economy. The study reinforces the conclusion that strengthening the halal ecosystem through heightened consumer awareness, halal certification, and policy support for micro-enterprises can accelerate sharia economic growth.
