This study aimed to determine the effect of the deep learning approach on students' cognitive mathematics learning outcomes in place value material for Grade III students at UPTD SD Inpres Lasiana. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 21 Grade III students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using cognitive achievement tests and observation sheets of students' learning activities. The test instrument comprised 20 multiple-choice items that had met the requirements of validity, reliability, item discrimination, and difficulty level. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample t-Test and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) with IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The findings indicated a significant difference between students' cognitive learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the deep learning approach, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The average N-Gain score was 0.7497 (74.97%), indicating a high improvement category. Furthermore, students' learning activities reached 93.33%, which was categorized as very good. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the deep learning approach effectively improves students' cognitive mathematics learning outcomes on place value material in elementary school.
