Front kick speed is one of the essential components in pencak silat because it contributes to the effectiveness of attacks and the opportunity to gain points during competition. Based on observations of TP Club athletes who train at SMP Negeri 1 Kendal, it was found that their front kick speed was still not optimal, indicating the need for an appropriate training program to improve this ability. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Split Jump training on front kick speed, analyze the effect of Knee Tuck Jump training on front kick speed, and compare the effects of these two training methods. This study employed an experimental method using a Two-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 40 athletes selected using the total sampling technique and divided into two groups: the Split Jump training group and the Knee Tuck Jump training group, each consisting of 20 athletes. Data were collected through a front kick speed test administered before and after the training intervention. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Paired Sample t-test, and Independent Sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results showed that Split Jump training had a significant effect on front kick speed, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Knee Tuck Jump training also showed a significant effect, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the Independent Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.485 (p > 0.05), indicating that there was no significant difference in the effects of Split Jump and Knee Tuck Jump training on the front kick speed of pencak silat athletes. Therefore, both training methods can be considered effective alternatives for improving the front kick speed of pencak silat athletes.
