Abstract

This study analyzes the crucial role of the millennial generation as agents of socio-economic transformation in the urban area of Jakarta. The primary focus is on their significant contributions to two key aspects: digitalization and the development of the creative economy. Through a qualitative approach involving literature review and secondary data analysis, this research demonstrates that the unique characteristics of millennials such as their technological proficiency, entrepreneurial spirit, and adaptability to changeenable them to be drivers of innovation. In the context of digitalization, they promote the adoption of technology across various sectors, creating new digital ecosystems, and leading trends in social media and e-commerce. Meanwhile, within the creative economy, they act as primary initiators and actors in industries such as design, media, arts, and culinary, which not only create jobs but also shape the city's modern economic identity. The findings highlight that the role of millennials is not just top-down but also a transformative force emerging from the bottom up, fundamentally shaping Jakarta's social and economic landscape.
