<![CDATA[Drug abuse remains a social issue requiring sustainable, community-based prevention strategies. This study aims to analyze strategies for sustaining the (Desa Bersinar) Drug Free Village initiative through community capacity building and the implementation of family-based prevention strategies. The study employs a Participatory Action Research methodology utilizing a community-based participatory approach. Data were collected through direct observation, activity documentation, and interactive discussions with community members participating in drug prevention education activities conducted in collaboration with the Garut Regency National Narcotics Agency in West Limbangan Village. The results indicate that educational activities successfully raised public awareness, strengthened resident participation, and fostered an understanding of the roles played by families and the community in preventing drug abuse. Community involvement in discussions demonstrated a shift from being mere information recipients to becoming active participants in prevention efforts. In conclusion, the sustainability of the (Desa Bersinar) program requires the integration of community empowerment and family-based prevention strategies. This study offers theoretical implications for developing community empowerment models in drug prevention, as well as practical implications for village governments and relevant agencies to strengthen the program through community cadre development, family education, and cross-sector collaboration.]]>
