This community service (PKM) activity aims to optimize the utilization of residential yard land by enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of the community in Badak Village, Belik District, Pemalang Regency, through training on polybag-based vegetable and horticultural cultivation. This initiative addresses the underutilization og yard space and the community’s limited understanding of independent horticultural practices. The methodology applied a participatory approach consisting of counseling, technical demonstrations, hands-on practice, group discussions, and continuous mentoring. The operational stages comprised preparation, material delivery, planting technique demonstrations, direct practice by participants, as well as evaluation and mentoring. The results revealed that the community successfully acquired technical knowledge and practical skills regarding growing media preparation, seed selection, planting techniques, and crop maintenance. High participant engagement reflected strong enthusiasm for practicing functional and efficient land utilization using polybags. This program is expected to be independently sustained by the community to ensure continuous yard utilization, thereby supporting household food security and empowering the community of Badak Village
