This study aims to analyze the construction of heroic image and persuasive communication of Monkey D. Luffy in the anime One Piece: Wano Kuni Arc as a representation of meaning in popular media. This research employs a qualitative interpretative approach using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis, which includes denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were collected through observation and documentation of relevant scenes and dialogues, while data analysis was conducted by identifying visual and verbal signs and interpreting their meanings. The results indicate that Luffy’s heroic image is constructed through acts of protecting the oppressed, courage in confronting tyranny, and consistency in upholding justice. Meanwhile, his persuasive image is built through symbolic communication that fosters awareness, solidarity, and collective trust. At the myth level, Luffy is represented as a liberator symbol that embodies social hope. This study concludes that anime functions not only as entertainment but also as an effective communication medium in shaping social meaning and leadership values in society.).
