Patients with advanced chronic illnesses often experience reduced quality of life due to physical symptoms, psychological distress, and functional limitations. Comprehensive palliative care is needed to address these multidimensional problems. Nurses have an important role in providing continuous care through symptom assessment, management, education, and coordination of palliative services. This systematic literature review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nurse-led palliative care interventions in improving quality of life among patients with advanced chronic illnesses. The review was conducted using a systematic approach based on established reporting guidelines. Literature searches were performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for studies published between 2020 and 2025. The inclusion criteria consisted of original research articles involving adult patients with advanced chronic illnesses and evaluating nurse-led palliative care interventions. A total of 1.156 articles were identified, and 12 studies met the inclusion criteria. The interventions included holistic needs assessment, symptom management, psychosocial support, patient and family education, advance care planning, and care coordination. The findings demonstrated improved quality of life, reduced symptoms, and enhanced self-care abilities. Nurse-led palliative care interventions support holistic care delivery for patients with advanced chronic illnesses.
