Waste management is an important environmental issue in Islamic boarding schools because daily residential activities generate waste continuously. This study aimed to analyze waste management at Darunnajah Sawahan Islamic Boarding School in the perspective of the Green Pesantren concept. A descriptive qualitative design was used at Darunnajah Sawahan Islamic Boarding School. Informants consisted of one key informant, 10 boarding-school administrators, and 21 room leaders. Data were obtained through field observation and interviews, then organized and interpreted descriptively based on recurring themes. The findings indicate limited waste bins, absence of source separation, an unsegregated temporary storage area, evidence of waste burning, limited knowledge of proper waste management, and inconsistent implementation of cleanliness rules. These findings show that waste management has not fully reflected Green Pesantren principles and requires integrated improvements in facilities, waste separation, education, supervision, transportation, and consistent environmental rules.
