Creative economy-based MSMEs play an important role in Semarang City's economy but still face challenges in maintaining competitive advantage amid dynamic competition. This study aims to analyze the application of the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory in building sustainable competitive advantage among creative economy MSMEs in Semarang City through four VRIN dimensions: Value, Rarity, Imitability, and Organization. The study employed a mixed method sequential explanatory approach using data from interviews, observations, and Likert-scale questionnaires administered to 96 MSME actors in the culinary, fashion, and craft subsectors. Data were analyzed through qualitative triangulation and descriptive statistics based on the average scores of each dimension. The results show that Value obtained the highest score of 4.04, while Imitability was the lowest dimension at 3.34. The craft subsector demonstrated the strongest RBV profile with an average score of 3.78, while the culinary subsector excelled in Value but was more vulnerable to imitation. The findings highlight the need to strengthen intellectual property protection and organizational capabilities to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
