Character education is an essential component of education because it aims to develop students who possess not only academic competence but also good moral character, attitudes, and personality. The Qur'an contains various exemplary stories that can serve as sources for character education, one of which is the story of Prophet Musa and Prophet Khidir in QS. Al-Kahf verses 60–82. This study aims to analyze the character education values contained in the story of Prophet Musa and Prophet Khidir and examine their relevance to character education in schools. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research method and thematic interpretation approach. The primary sources consist of the Qur'an and relevant classical and contemporary interpretations, while secondary sources include books, scientific articles, and documents related to character education. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the story contains several important character education values, particularly patience in the process of seeking knowledge, humility and proper manners toward teachers, as well as positive thinking, trust in Allah, and awareness of the wisdom behind divine decree. The value of patience is reflected in Prophet Musa's learning process with Prophet Khidir, particularly when he was required to refrain from asking questions before receiving an explanation. The value of manners is demonstrated through Musa's polite request to accompany Khidir and learn from him despite his status as a prophet. Meanwhile, the values of husnuzan and tawakkal are reflected in the explanation of the wisdom behind the three events that initially appeared negative from an outward perspective. These values are relevant to character education through exemplary behavior, story-based learning, habituation, reflection, and contextual learning. Therefore, the story of Prophet Musa and Prophet Khidir can serve as an important source for developing character education that integrates intellectual, moral, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.
