Abstract

This study investigates the role of income expectations, social media utilization, environmental influences, and motivation toward entrepreneurial intention among Management students in West Jakarta while reexamining the consistency of relationships among these variables due to inconsistent findings reported in previous studies. A quantitative cross-sectional descriptive design was employed. Participants were recruited through purposive non-probability sampling, and consisted of active Management students in West Jakarta. Data were gathered through a structured Google Forms survey using a five-point Likert scale, distributed online through WhatsApp and Instagram and offline on campus. A total of 180 responses were obtained, with 22 excluded for failing to satisfy the research criteria, resulting in 158 valid respondents. Data analysis employed SmartPLS 4 through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that income expectations, social media, environmental factors, and motivation positively and significantly influence students’ entrepreneurial intention, with environmental factors exerting the strongest effect. This study supports the applicability of the Theory of Planned Behavior while offering practical implications for universities and policymakers in strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems through entrepreneurship development initiatives.
