This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the Communication and Informatics Office of North Sumatra Province (Diskominfo) to enhance public information transparency through digital media, particularly the Instagram account @infosumutku. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving digital information and media managers at Diskominfo North Sumatra, users or followers of the @infosumutku account, and academics with expertise in digital communication. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while source triangulation was employed to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that Diskominfo North Sumatra implements its digital communication strategy by utilizing Instagram to disseminate information on government policies, development programs, governmental activities, public services, and digital literacy education. The strategy is supported by the use of visual content, including infographics, photographs, videos, reels, and stories, which are adapted to the characteristics of social media users. Instagram also provides opportunities for two-way communication through comments and responses to public questions and feedback. However, the implementation of this strategy faces several challenges, including limited human resource competencies, the need for continuous content innovation, bureaucratic dynamics, the spread of hoaxes and disinformation, and relatively low levels of digital literacy among some members of the public. Therefore, strengthening human resource capacity, developing innovative content, enhancing public interaction, and improving digital literacy are necessary to optimize public information transparency through digital media.
