Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional problem in Indonesia, with a national prevalence of 21.6%. Anchovy (Stolephorus spp.) is an affordable local food rich in protein and calcium, making it potential for stunting prevention. This activity aimed to increase the knowledge of mothers of toddlers in Perum Panorama Wanasari regarding the utilization of anchovies for stunting prevention. The method used was participatory health education utilizing leaflets and interactive discussions. Success indicators were based on achieving a minimum 30% knowledge score increase and participant satisfaction. Knowledge was measured using a structured 10-item questionnaire via pre-test and post-test. Attended by 27 mothers and 4 cadres, the average knowledge score increased significantly from 58.1 to 86.3 (a 48.5% rise), with 92.6% of participants showing improvement. Participant satisfaction reached 88.5%. Participatory education based on local food is effective in improving mothers' nutritional knowledge, although it has not directly measured changes in consumption behavior.
