Objectives: This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge regarding radiation protection hazards in the field of dentistry among students at SMAN 7 Samarinda Materials and Methods: An analytic descriptive study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 216 students from grades XI and XII of SMAN 7 Samarinda. Participants who were enrolled as active students and agreed to participate by completing the questionnaire were included in the study, while students who submitted incomplete questionnaires or declined participation were excluded. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed descriptively to determine the distribution of students' knowledge levels. Results: Of the 216 respondents, 79 students (36.57%) had a good level of knowledge, 120 students (55.56%) had a sufficient level of knowledge, and 17 students (7.87%) had a poor level of knowledge regarding radiation protection hazards in dentistry. The findings indicate that most students demonstrated a sufficient level of knowledge. Conclusion: The majority of students at SMAN 7 Samarinda had a sufficient level of knowledge regarding radiation protection hazards in dentistry. Although only a small proportion had poor knowledge, educational programs on radiation protection are still needed to improve students' understanding and awareness of radiation safety.
