Abstract. Urban growth is the process of urban expansion characterized by an increase in population due to urbanization and the growth of economic activity. In West Java Province, this growth has occurred in tandem with the development of the transportation sector, as reflected in the increase in the number of vehicles, road length, and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the transportation sector. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three variables on urban growth in nine cities in West Java Province for the period 2020-2024. This study employs a quantitative method with descriptive and verifiable approaches. Panel-form secondary data were analyzed using panel data regression with EViews 12. Based on the Chow Test, Hausman Test, and Lagrange Multiplier Test, the selected model is the Random Effects Model (REM). The results show that the number of vehicles and the GRDP of the transportation sector have a positive and significant effect on urban growth, while road length has a positive but insignificant effect at the 5 percent level. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect on urban growth, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.770988. These findings indicate that the development of the transportation sector plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable urban growth.
