Abstract

The design of the Institute of Technology and Business in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta, responds to the growing need for higher education institutions that are adaptive to technological advancement and urban development. PIK, as a rapidly evolving area combining residential, commercial, and recreational functions, offers a strategic site for developing a modern campus that integrates both academic and commercial activities. This project consists of two main faculties—Engineering (Architecture and Civil Engineering) and Business (Management and Digital Business)—with collaborative and flexible learning spaces that encourage interdisciplinary interaction. The presence of this campus is expected to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and educational growth within the region.Biophilic architecture is applied as the core design approach to create a built environment that prioritizes user comfort, well-being, and ecological harmony. Natural elements such as vertical greenery, open gardens, reflective pools, natural lighting, and cross ventilation are embedded into the site and building layout to establish a healthy and inspiring learning atmosphere. The design also addresses sustainability issues through the use of environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient strategies. This campus aims to become a holistic learning space and a new landmark for higher education in North Jakarta. Keywords: institute of technology and business, biophilic architecture, urban campus, Pantai Indah Kapuk, collaborative, sustainable.
