Based on various definitions, adolescence is an important transition phase from childhood to adulthood, with an age range that varies between 10-19 years (WHO) to 10-24 years (BKKBN), characterized by significant physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Teenagers are currently facing serious health challenges, especially the increased risk of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Type 2, driven by a sedentary lifestyle, lack of nutritional awareness, and high consumption of junk food and sweet drinks, of which around 80-85% of DM patients also experience obesity. Because conventional education is considered less interesting and less interactive, community service intervention was carried out on 25 junior high school students (Grades 7, 8, and 9) using educational ladder snake creation boards to increase early awareness of the dangers of DM. The pre-test showed a very low level of knowledge, with only 1 out of 25 students (4%) able to explain DM (only as "sugar disease"). After an interactive and participatory education session, the post-test showed a significant and drastic increase in knowledge, where 17 out of 25 students (68%) were able to explain DM in detail. Although there is a difference in success between classes (Grade 8 reaches 100% and Grade 7 only 36%), this result proves that the educational ladder snake game is a very effective and superior intervention tool to overcome the knowledge gap and encourage healthy behavior changes among adolescents, in line with previous research that shows the effectiveness of board games in health promotion.
